Tasek Gelugor is a predominantly Malay rural township in northern Seberang Perai, near the Kedah border and the North–South Expressway (Bertam interchange). It grew as a railway town and agricultural service centre, ringed by paddy and oil-palm land, and is best known for hosting the largest pasar tani (farmers' market) in Penang. Community life is kampung-anchored and prices are among the lowest in the state.
